Rather than panic or take steps to prevent it, she ho hums it off but decides to stand up to Mommy dearest and goes off to write a bucket list of the most boring things possible and naturally comes home to a dead mother and to become suspect number one of an inept police department (a cozy mystery deal breaker for me is inept or police working against the protagonist but I looked past that.). Which might be a moot point as she just had a vision that she's murdered. Rose has vision (from the devil just ask momma) and wouldn't know how to live if life slap her in the face. (I could handle the crappy doodles without tearing out my eyes but some of the other stuff not so much) Our protagonist Rose is both insanely sheltered and henpecked by an ultra religious mother that she lives with, in fact dropped out of school to take care of even though there is nothing wrong with the woman other than she's a master manipulator. It's one of those clean reads that is SO clean it gives you hives. I got this as a freebie and still overpaid for it. Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank
